Poker has become globally acclaimed recently, with televised championships and celebrity poker game events. Its universal appeal, though, arcs back in reality a bit farther than its TV scores. Over the years many variants on the original poker game have been created, including a handful of games that are not in reality poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of the above-mentioned games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to blackjack than long-standing poker, in that the players bet against the dealer instead of each other. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is little concealment or different kinds of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up prior to the croupier broadcasting "No further bets." At that point, both you and the dealer and of course every one of the other players acquire 5 cards each. After you have observed your hand and the bank's first card, you have to either make a call bet or bow out. The call bet's amount is akin to your beginning ante, which means that the risks will have doubled. Surrendering means that your ante goes instantly to the bank. After the wager is the face off. If the dealer does not have ace/king or better, your wager is given back, plus an amount equal to the ante. If the dealer has a hand with ace/king or greater, you win if your hand beats the bank's hand. The casino pays out cash even with your bet and fixed expectations on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for two pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • 20-1 for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
