Poker has become globally famous as of late, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game shows. Its universal appeal, though, stretches back in reality a bit farther than its television ratings. Over the years many types on the earliest poker game have been developed, including a few games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these particular games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely affiliated with twenty-one than old guard poker, in that the gamblers bet against the casino rather than each other. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little bluffing or other types of deceptiveness. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up just before the dealer broadcasting "No further bets." At that point, both you and the house and of course all of the other players are given 5 cards each. After you have looked at your hand and the dealer's 1st card, you have to in turn make a call bet or surrender. The call wager's amount is on same level to your beginning ante, meaning that the stakes will have increased two fold. Giving Up means that your ante goes directly to the house. After the wager is the showdown. If the casino does not have ace/king or better, your wager is given back, with an amount in accordance with the initial bet. If the bank has a hand with ace/king or greater, you win if your hand is greater than the bank's hand. The house pays out chips even with your ante and set odds on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • three to one for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
