Internet poker has become world acclaimed recently, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game events. Its popularity, though, arcs back quite a bit farther than its television scores. Over the years many variants on the earliest poker game have been created, including a handful of games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely related to 21 than traditional poker, in that the players bet against the dealer instead of each other. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is no bluffing or different kinds of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up just before the croupier saying "No further bets." At that point, both you and the casino and of course every one of the different gamblers attain five cards each. After you have looked at your hand and the dealer's first card, you must in turn make a call wager or accede. The call bet's amount is akin to your original wager, which means that the risks will have increased two fold. Abandoning means that your ante goes instantaneously to the casino. After the bet comes the face off. If the dealer doesn't have ace/king or greater, your wager is returned, plus an amount equal to the original bet. If the casino does have ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand is greater than the dealer's hand. The casino pays out money equal to your bet and set expectations on your call wager. These odds are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • 3-1 for three of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
