Online poker has become globally acclaimed as of late, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, stretches back in reality a bit further than its television ratings. Over the years many types on the original poker game have been developed, including a few games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these particular games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely resembling 21 than old guard poker, in that the gamblers wager against the house instead of the other players. The succeeding hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is little bluffing or other types of boondoggle. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up prior to the dealer announcing "No more wagers." At that point, both you and the bank and of course every one of the different gamblers attain 5 cards each. Once you have observed your hand and the dealer's initial card, you have to in turn make a call bet or give up. The call wager's value is equal to your original bet, meaning that the risks will have doubled. Surrendering means that your wager goes immediately to the bank. After the bet comes the showdown. If the dealer doesn't have ace/king or better, your wager is returned, including a figure in accordance with the ante. If the bank does have ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand is greater than the bank's hand. The house pays out chips even with your bet and set expectations on your call wager. These expectations are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for 2 pairs
  • 3-1 for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • 20-1 for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
