Poker has become world celebrated recently, with televised events and celebrity poker game events. Its popularity, though, arcs back quite a bit farther than its television scores. Over the years many variants on the original poker game have been developed, including some games that are not in reality poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely affiliated with 21 than long-standing poker, in that the gamblers wager against the dealer rather than each other. The succeeding hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little conniving or other kinds of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up before the croupier broadcasting "No more wagers." At that instance, both you and the house and of course all of the different players attain five cards each. Once you have observed your hand and the dealer's 1st card, you need to either make a call bet or bow out. The call bet's amount is akin to your beginning bet, meaning that the stakes will have increased two fold. Abandoning means that your ante goes immediately to the bank. After the bet comes the face off. If the house doesn't have ace/king or better, your bet is given back, plus an amount equal to the ante. If the bank does have ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand is greater than the dealer's hand. The house pony's up chips equal to your wager and set expectations on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for 2 pairs
  • 3-1 for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
